Closet organizers are just a combination of shelves, hanging bars, racks, and other storage boxes, all in one whole system. Before you go on looking for one, you should first determine your budget range. Good quality closet organizer systems can be had at $100 and below while high-end systems can cost up to $900. But then again, you won’t need those systems with far-fetched prices anyways. Once you have determined your range for the budget, then you would already have a good head start.
Next is to determine how much clothes, accessories, and other stuff you are planning to put inside the closet. By determining such, you would have an over-all view of how wide or tall your closet organizer system should be. Most brands have pre-configured packages that are packed in a single box complete with installation accessories and installation instructions. When determining the size of your closet stuff, you should not include those clothes that haven’t been worn by you for a long time. As a rule of thumb, if you haven’t worn a particular outfit for 8 months, then that outfit should not be inside the closet anymore. You can discard those stuffs via a garage sale or better yet, donate them to charity.
Once you have already determined your budget range and the amount of clothing and accessories that should go inside your closet space, all you would now have to do is to trim down your closet organizer choices into a short list. What you’d mostly want to look for is an organizer that has at least 4 shelves, at least 3 drawers, a shoe rack, and a hanging bar. If you have the budget for the high-end closets, then you wouldn’t have much of a problem choosing one. Almost all of these expensive closets have configurations to handle tons of clothing and accessories. On the other hand, if your budget fits only the lower priced brands such as Closetmaid and Rubbermaid, then you would still be good considering that most of their standard models are capable of handling most closet organization needs.
