When you want to decorate your house with vinyl many people don’t know how to chose the right size and type of vinyl lettering that would fit their home. Taking the time to prepare and do it right will make the difference between great design or disaster. The first item of business to take care of is to determine the space available on the wall that you want to place. Then determine how big you actually want the saying to be. The bigger it is the more eye catching it is, while the smaller the more it helps blend the room together. Next decide what you want the saying to be. It can be humorous, motivational, or memorable. Next decide how you want that saying laid out. Generally if it is a 2 line saying you will want to stagger start the second line, if it is more centering them looks better. Order the saying you want. Generally if you find a good vinyl store they will do a custom saying in the font that you chose if you can’t find it in their product list already.

Now take the vinyl and before you actually put it on put it up against the wall and roughly place it. Have a friend help you center and level it. If you don’t have anyone helping you use a wall safe tape to hold it while you step back and check. Once you have it where you want it make some light pencil marks to help you place it when you take the backing off. Take the backing off, place it using the pencil marks starting from the center working out and rub it with a credit card to smooth it out and make sure it sticks. Peel of the second backing and now you have a wonderfully placed vinyl wall sticker.
