¿Cuándo debemos pintar nuestra casa? A la hora de buscar ideas decorativas, no cabe duda que pintar el exterior de la casa será una de las que marquen más diferencias. Los colores determinan mucho no sólo el estado de “salud” de la casa sino también el look general, estilo y diseño así como el  gusto de sus propietarios. Si una propiedad está en las ruinas, no cabe duda de que la pintura corre gran urgencia. Normalmente se puede elegir la época del año en la que pintar, pero es conveniente elegir un período en el que, en la medida en la que se posible, el trabajo sea más eficaz. Las pinturas modernas secan rápido y esto hace que el trabajo no sea tan tedioso como hace unos años, pero aún así hay partes del año que son mejores para pintar la casa que otras. Como regla general, el invierno no es un buen momento. Si pintamos cuando hace mucho frío o hay neblina, la película de humedad que se deposita en la superficie hará que la pintura se pele rápido una vez se ha secado. De todas maneras, el tiempo de secado se retrasa bastante tanto por las bajas temperaturas como la ausencia de luz. La lluvia en la pintura que aún está tierna la dañará.

En primavera y verano las temperaturas suben y el tiempo de secado será mucho más rápido. Esto es un factor muy importante sobe todo por cualquier tipo de humedad que haya penetrado durante el proceso. Una vez ha llegado el momento de volver a pintar, no debemos retrasarlo ni un momento, ya que como bien saben los pintores, al final saldrá más caro dejar la pintura del exterior para más adelante. Descartando el invierno y la primavera, ya que esta última no suele tener las temperaturas ideales para el secado, el mejor momento para pintar nuestra casa es claramente a finales del verano o principios del otoño.
